Old
Love
Hidden under bright bows of
youth, starry-eyed crepe, faces
flush with ribbons of desire,
our love came old
right out of the box, waiting
patiently for nightfall to send
those moony kids to bed, hungry
for the dovetail of old, familiar
ground, swale rising
to swell, kiss of sleep turning
us back into children.
